Giving to the Calvin T. Ryan Library

Gifts of Books and Other Materials

The Calvin T. Ryan Library welcomes gifts of books, audiovisual materials, and periodicals for the Library's collections. Gifts from friends of the Library supplement the Library's purchase of materials, providing items otherwise unavailable. To help inform donors as to what is an appropriate gift and to insure that gifts are properly placed in the library collection, the following procedures have been adopted:

The Calvin T. Ryan Library, in association with the University of Nebraska Foundation, has launched a program to Buy a "Book for the Library" as a long-term project for library enhancement and to help replace books damaged by the April 9, 2013 storm.

Special Donation Guidelines

We are pleased to consider offers of unique or specialized collections that do not necessarily meet the standard guidelines above. In some cases, we may send a subject expert to your site to review a special collection. To discuss a donation that is of unique value, please contact Janet Wilke .

Monetary Gifts

Monetary gifts supporting the library are tax deductible and are handled by the University of Nebraska Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation.

Private financial support is vital to creating a margin of excellence at the Calvin T. Ryan Library. Your gifts can assist the library in bringing outstanding collections of information to the library on paper and electronically, as well as creating a physical environment which complements learning for UNK students and other library users.
