Info for UNMC Students

Research Guides

Both the UNMC and UNK Libraries provide Research Guides to assist library users in locating resources.

  • Specialized Research Guides for UNMC are located on the McGoogan Library Research Guides page.
  • Pre-Professional Health Sciences and Science program guides can be found at the Calvin T. Ryan Library's Research Guides page.

Learning Commons

The Writing Center is located in the Learning Commons on the second floor of the Calvin T. Ryan Library. UNMC students have access to the services of the Writing Center by appointment, both in person and online.

Pre-Professional Health Sciences or B.S. degree program students at UNK also have access to the services of the Writing Center by appointment.

In addition, their UNK student fees provide:

Access To Resources

Students in the UNMC Nursing and Allied Health programs on the UNK campus have access to UNK online databases in the Library building, but do not have remote access because of licensing restrictions.  UNMC students may check out UNK books and other circulating materials. UNMC students who need access to Interlibrary Loan services should use Interlibrary Loan through the UNMC Library, and also have access to the full suite of UNMC electronic resources and other services provided by the McGoogan Health Sciences Library

UNK students who are enrolled in the UNK Health Sciences Pre-Professional and B.S.  Degree programs, whether on the UNK campus or remotely, have full access to Calvin T. Ryan Library databases and other information resources and services.  This includes a very efficient Interlibrary Loan service.  UNK students do not have access to library resources and services at UNMC, unless they are co-enrolled at both campuses.
